Kimberly and Ian – eSession

Last weekend we photographed an engagement session that included a trip to the canyons for some outdoor photos and a little studio time. The studio time was used to photograph Kimberly and Ian in formal Korean Wedding attire. The colors were amazing.

While outdoors we hiked to the waterfall (unfortunately there was not much water) where Ian first asked Kimberly to be his girlfriend. I now want to go to Hawaii with with them so I can get a photograph where he proposed

+Del Mar California Engagement Session

We headed down the coast to beautiful and peaceful Del Mar California recently to photograph Laura and Noel’s engagement session. It was a gorgeous beach day with a super blue sky. After spending some time at the beach we wandered into to town to capture some additional photos. I really enjoyed this day. Besides having my wife with me to assist – I had an opportunity to hang out with Laura and Noel!

Amanda and David in Malibu

Just before Christmas I headed to my favorite beach in Malibu to photograph Amanda and David. I had never met David before because he is stationed overseas. All I can say is that this session was a blast! It was a picture perfect day here in sunny California and both Amanda and David were a joy to photograph. I can’t wait for their wedding later this year.

Santa Monica Engagement Session

Jeanne and Ryan are clients from Baton Rouge LA. They are having a Los Angeles wedding early next year. They were in town a couple of weeks ago and we had an opportunity to schedule their engagement session. Jeanne use to live in Santa Monica – so what better place would there be to hang out for a few hours and capture some fun photos.

I can’t wait for their wedding in 2012 – it is going to be a very special event – including my very first girls bachelourette party shoot.

Malibu Engagement Session

Recently I spent an afternoon at the beach in Malibu with Veronica and John. It was a breath taking day with the largest surf pounding waves I have ever seen here in Southern California. The beach was covered in seaweed and boulders which made maneuvering the landscape a little challenging, but fun. Here are a couple of photographs from our session:

Megan and William – El Matador Beach Engagement

Packed up the car for a trip to the beach in Malibu recently to capture engagement images for Megan and William. The beach always seems to have a calming effect on me. The fact that Megan and William are an awesome couple couple also helped in setting the very “chill” vibe at the beach. Love California beach’s at sunset!

A 99% Perfect Engagement Session (I will explain)

Last weekend I met up with Nicole and Jason in downtown Los Angeles for what would be a great engagement session – almost perfect in fact. Nicole and Jason are fun, lots of fun! They are always playing around, making each other laugh and just acting silly (in a good way). I was thinking to myself how awesome this session was going to be – when Nicole pulls out San Jose Sharks hockey Jersey to wear in some images. I am sorry but I had to deduct a point since the Sharks are currently playing the Cunucks, who I am cheering for, in the NHL Semifinals. Hence the 99% rating.

Wine Country Engagement with Andre and Steve

We recently headed up to one of my favorite places – Santa Ynez California for a little wine and engagement photos. We were joined by Andre and Steve and had the opportunity to visit two wineries and the Santa Ynez Mission. The weather forecast was little ominous, but it turned out to be a picture perfect day. Melissa and Anthony Engagement Photos

I recently visited the grounds of Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA as it’s known) to photograph Mellisa and Anthony’s engagement session. We ended up detouring a little from the museum grounds to cross the road and photograph by some sections of the Berlin Wall on display- very cool. We then carried on capturing some additional urban images around the area before returning to the museum to finish our session ironically at Chris Burden’s outdoor sculpture “Urban Light.”

It was my first visit to LACMA and Mellisa (who knows her art) has me very interested in returning to spend a day.

Hot Hollywood eSession

I recently headed down to Hollywood with Ashli and Justin for an engagement session. We had so much fun walking around exploring the streets of eclectic Tinseltown. Parts of the session felt more like a fashion shoot as we discovered so many interesting places to photograph. Also a big shout out to A&J for taking a break and buying me a burger!
