Serena and Conrad in San Francisco

After we finished up our recent wedding in Sonoma we headed over to San Francisco to photograph an engagement session for Serena and Conrad. We spent a gorgeous afternoon photographing at The Palace of Fine Arts, Chrissy Field and Baker Beach. We had a blast with Conrad and Serena and after I found out Conrad graduated from the University of Michigan (my favorite College Football team) we were best friends! After the session Conrad and Serena took my wife, Amy (my second photographer)and me out for a great sunset dinner on the beach. Can’t wait to photograph their June wedding here in L.A. Here are some images from a great day:

Gabrielle and Drew’s Sonoma Wedding

As mentioned in my previous post – we were up north in Sonoma recently for Gabrielle and Drew’s wedding at the Fairmont Mission Inn. Drew and Gabrielle are a very genuine couple and it showed with all the fun and laughter they shared with friends and family. Their warmth was not limited to friends and family as they took great care of our team (my wife Cora and second photographer Amy). Drew the groom even hand delivered a bottle of wine while we were eating dinner.

It was a gorgeous spring like day in Sonoma – perfect for a wedding. Many of the guests traveled to California from back east and took advantage of the sun and a very magical evening. Perfect for the boys to light up and enjoy a few cigars! Here are some photographs from Gabrielle and Drew’s wedding:

Sonoma Engagement Session

Last weekend we were up in Sonoma for the wedding of Gabrielle and Drew at the Fairmont Mission Inn. (Images coming soon). On Saturday the day before the wedding, Amy Britton (visiting friend and Canadian Wedding Photographer) and I headed down to the town square in beautiful Sonoma to capture some engagement photos. Although I had previously met Gabrielle – I just met Drew the evening before and instead of a handshake was greeting with a big hug and some awesome Scotch Whiskey! Can you say instant rapport?

Susan & Michael’s Calimigos Wedding

Last Sunday I headed down to the Sheridan Universal with my pal and fellow photographer – Mitchel Wu to photograph the wedding of Susan and Michael. Anyone who knows this couple is aware just how long in the making this wedding was.

As many of you know, I love getting great shoe shots and Susan the bride loves shoes (it was a match made in heaven). That why there is more than the customary single shoe image down below.

Just as we were going to move outside for photos it started to rain. Suzy and Michael were still game for taking a quick stroll in the rain, dress and all. See the photo below.

Wedding Photography Video

On Wednesday Matt Sutherland from Matrimony Pictures joined Joey Carman and me for a fun filled afternoon of movie making. Joey and I were shooting a short video to post on our upcoming workshop blog – WIJC-Series. Of course Joey could not leave without setting the timer and taking a group photo. Video should be available in a couple of weeks. It was a fun day – thanks Matt and Joey!

LA Style Unveiled – 2009 Love Awards – Winner

Wow! I am totally inspirited by having one of my weddings just win the LA Style Unveiled “2009 Love Award” for favorite 2009 LA Real Wedding and for favorite Outdoor Wedding. Beach, Portraits and Dinner with Friends

On Sunday I gathered the whole family in two cars and head down to Malibu for a family Photo session. My buddy – Joey Carman from Joey Carman Photography photographed my family and I captured his. It was one of those magical days – spend with good friends and family. Afterwards we all headed over to Taverna Tony for a Greek feast. Here are some of the images of Joey and Karen with their adorable kids.

Promo Images for Video Friend

My good friend Ari Perilstein – Videographer extraordinaire, is relaunching his business with a new name and website (i would love to link to it, but it does not go live until January 1st, 2010). He asked me to take some promo images for him last week. We headed out to the alley way behind his Beverly Hills office and shot for about 30 minutes. We took our time because I was using my Leica Rangefinder Camera and that requires manual focus and exposure! He are a couple of photos and at the bottom is an awesome film Ari put together from a wedding we both worked on this fall at the St. Regis Hotel.

Getting Married in Santa Monica … and the Carousel!
