Haleh and Jason’s Wedding

Last Sunday we captured the small intimate Iranian wedding ceremony of Haleh and Jason. The ceremony was very rich in customs and traditions. The bride wore her mother’s wedding gown. A fine hand-sewed wedding cloth, glittering with gold and silver, was spread out in front of the mirror of fate. Many beautiful items were arranged on the wedding cloth – all symbolizing aspects of the bride and groom’s future life together.

After the ceremony a wonderful meal was served, which we thoroughly enjoyed. I found out the bride’s mother spent two days preparing all the food.

Haleh and Jason are traveling to Hawaii in a couple of weeks with friends and family, where they plan on having another wedding ceremony.

Here are a couple of images from Haleh and Jason’s day.
Some of the beautiful items placed on the “wedding cloth”.
